Treasure Hunter - Solutions

Warning! Once you know the solution, there’s no going back! You cannot “replay” a mystery. Try solving the puzzles using the hints first. Click here for Hints.

Envelope B

  • We know right away that the Captain sits at the end of the table, which is Seat #3.

    Jack sits in Seat #2 and Anne sits across from him in Seat #4.

    Mary must be on Anne’s LEFT side, so she sits in Seat #5.

    Grace sits in Seat #1.

    The letters “A. M. J.” on the case stand for “Anne, Mary, Jack.” The code is their seat numbers: 4, 5, and 2.

Envelope C

  • When you match the wood pieces to the sign, you get:

    Dunes: 2
    Cliffs: 5
    Mountains: 25
    Volcano: 32

    Plug in these numbers to solve the math problem.

    4 times 25 (mountains) is 100.
    Subtract 32 (volcano) to get 68.
    Divide by 2 (dunes) to get 34.
    Add 5 (cliffs) to get 39.

Envelope D

  • The second column is a good place to start because there are only three symbols, and two of them are the same.

    Anchor + Monkey + Monkey = 9

    1 + 4 + 4 = 9. So Anchor must be 1 and Monkey must be 4 .

    From there you can figure out that Bottle = 3 and Mouse = 7.

    The symbols on the safe give the order of the code: Anchor (1), Bottle (3), Monkey (4), Mouse (7).

Envelope E

  • Every letter is shifted 17 places forward. Therefore:

    A = r
    B = s
    C = t
    D = u
    E = v
    F = w
    G = x
    H = y
    I = z
    J = a
    K = b
    L = c
    M = d
    N = e
    O = f
    P = g
    Q = h
    R = i
    S = j
    T = k
    U = l
    V = m
    W = n
    X = o
    Y = p
    Z = q

    With this key you can decipher the message: key is hidden under rock.

Envelope F

  • There are four clues that tell you the following information:

    1. the treasure is on a small island.

    2. The small island has no name

    3. When prompted, enter the location as letter, then number.

    4. The third letter of each clue spells a word.

    The third letter of each clue is capitalized. When you put these letters together, you get: T, R, E, E (“tree”).

    There are lots of trees on the big island, but the only small, unnamed island with a tree is at location f1.

    Scan the QR code and enter: f1

Envelope X

  • When you “trace” each path on the grid of images, your finger makes the shape of a number.

    Path 1 = 7
    Path 2 = 4
    Path 3 = 1

    There’s no QR code this time. Enter 741 into the locked bag in front of you. Then push the button on the lock to reveal the treasure within!

    Note: You can change the combination to a new code! With the correct code entered, hold the button and rotate the dials to a new number. But be sure to write the new code down so you don’t forget!
